UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated on Saturday, that the UK announces new restrictions. Starting with the fact that single-adult households will be able to form a “support bubble” with another household.
“Support bubbles must be exclusive, meaning you can’t switch the household you are in a bubble with or connect with multiple. All those in a support bubble will be able to act as if they live in the same household, meaning they can spend time together inside each others’ homes and do not need to stay two meters apart.” Johnson said.
The rule includes the elderly, single adults, and single parents living with minors.
The move is said to be helpful for people living alone.
People returning to the UK must quarantine alone for fourteen days before starting or joining a support bubble.
Relevant authorities, such as the police, have the power to enforce the new rules through fines.
In Canada, in some of its jurisdictions, a similar set-up has been in the works since May.
