On Saturday evening, a shooting and stabbing during a housewarming party happened in Bellevue, Washington, said the police.
Police received a call at approximately 7:30 pm on Saturday.
It was “frantic” and with “chaos in the background,” they said.
It was not a random shooting, the police explained.
The victims and the suspect were at a housewarming party at the Elements, a high-rise luxury apartment tower at 958 111th Ave NE, Bellevue.
Authorities said that the police arrived at the crime scene and found one dead in the third-floor lobby, two other seriously injured, and another in critical condition, who later died at the chaotic scene.
The Bellevue Police Chief, Steve Mylett revealed in a news conference:
“We don’t know who did what,” “… Now we’re in the process of pulling back layers trying to figure out exactly what happened.”
A guest was responsible for the stabbing, KIRO-TV’s David Nelson reported.
Another guest shot the stabber.
According to an eyewitness, one of the guests was too intoxicated and became aggressive.
The male guest “got belligerent drunk,” he said.
The witness’ friend was “trying to watch him” to ensure he’d be OK being inebriated.
However “they got into an argument.”
Consequently, the drunk suspect drew a knife and stabbed three housewarming guests.
People were “trying to fight” and “get the knife” from the drunk male guest, and he continued “taking stabs “at the others, said the witness.
The witness was worried about a friend who got stabbed and got a huge gash on the stomach.
Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center is treating the third male who was in critical condition.
A female guest, on the other hand, was brought to Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue.
A resident of another tower in the Elements, Miranda Rogers explains “something like this happening is pretty rare” in the quiet apartment complex, as per Seattle Times.
Moreover, her neighbors “have always been pleasant.”
She added that the incident is “just a really unfortunate event” that involved “a group of friends,”
