SALESFORCE TO ACQUIRE WORK CHAT APP, SLACK

Cloud computing pioneer, Salesforce, announced it is buying the popular workplace chat app, Slack on Tuesday, reports said.

Salesforce is paying Slack Technologies Inc. $27.7 billion, its biggest deal so far, Reuters said. 

Under the two companies’ terms of the agreement, Slack shareholders will get $26.79 billion in cash. Also, they’ll get 0.0776 shares of Salesforce common stock for every Slack share. 

“This is a match made in heaven,” says Salesforce CEO and Chair, Marc Benioff.

According to Salesforce’s statement, combining the Slack app and Salesforce’s Customer 360 will bring evolution to both the industry and its customers. Also, the integration will create innovative ways of working in today’s digitized world. 

Salesforce has revolutionized cloud computing and has ever since worked towards all possibilities to transform how people work. 

In fact, Slack’s CEO, Stewart Butterfield, is feeling excited with the massive opportunities the collaboration offers.  

Moreover, the new partnership will “shape the future of enterprise software” and transform how everyone works in any part of the world, said Benioff.

New Salesforce Customer 360 Interface

According to the statement from the two companies, Slack will become Salesforce Customer 360’s new interface. 

With that, Slack will integrate into all Salesforce Cloud and transform how people communicate and collaborate. 

This integration of Slack into Customer 360 ensures more productivity, smarter and faster decisions for companies who use them.
