To mark UK’s Volunteers’ Week, Kensington palace announced that Prince William was involved in Shout 85258.
In a BBC report, it was revealed that Prince William has been a part of Shout’s pool of volunteers.
He told the volunteers in a zoom video call last May, “I’m going to share a little secret with you guys, but I’m actually on the platform volunteering”.
Shout is a 24/7 UK text service that people can access in times when they need immediate support.
The Duke of Cambridge started volunteering for Shout after being trained by the mental health charity and has been volunteering there using a pseudonym.
Queen Elizabeth II gave a special message praising volunteers for the Volunteers’ Week,
“As Volunteers’ Week draws to a close, it is inspiring to reflect on the many thousands of people, who through their acts of generosity and kindness have achieved so much for the greater good” she added, “I have been following with interest how men and women from around the world, including my own family, have been helping and recognising the vital role of the volunteer. I send my best wishes to all those who give themselves so freely and selflessly in the service of others”.
