10 years ago, the world was rocked by these five young men- Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.
The group first appeared on British talent show The X Factor in 2010.
These young men had entered the competition as a soloist before judge Simon Cowell grouped them.
They came in third in the competition, but One Direction-1D for short- won in everybody’s hearts.
The pop group was considered as one of the most successful groups of all time.
1D’s Record-Breaking Career
When they arrived in America for the first time, pop music is the next big thing.
They are not the usual boy bands who follow choreography-heavy footsteps. And that helped them to be much more appealing.
It was as if they just wanted to make music and enjoy the ride.
There was a non-stop record-breaking albums and world tours.
Directioners (self-described 1D fans) support them all the way.
Worldwide fame was evident due to their seven Brit Awards, seven American Music Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards.
Band’s Indefinite Hiatus
During the group’s fourth world tour in 5 years, one of the members, Zayn Malik, left in 2015.
Later that year, the band released Made in the A.M. (which some believed to stand for “After Malik”).
Their accomplishments are also remarkable since their open-ended hiatus in 2016.
Nevertheless, they had successful solo careers and expanding into acting with the shadow of One Direction.
Are They Reuniting?
Liam tweeted, “What a journey… I had no idea what we were in for when I sent this text to my Dad ten years ago at this exact time the band was formed.”
“Thanks to everyone that’s supported us over the years and thanks to the boys for sharing this with me. #10YearsofOneDirection”
1D’s Instagram’s last post was back in 2016 when the hiatus began.
The message says: “Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history #10Yearsof1D” alongside a black and white picture.
Fans cannot keep calm and wonder what is planned to celebrate this 10th mark.
