The leader of the hermit kingdom has resurfaced.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un reportedly graced an opening of a fertilizer factor, according to BBC citing a report from Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
His reemergence happened on the 20th day after Kim was reportedly critically ill.
However, the latest reports from North Korean state-run media could not be independently confirmed, said BBC.
KCNA reported, Kim was accompanied by several senior North Korean officials, including his sister Kim Yo Jong.
The North Korean leader cut a ribbon at a ceremony at the plant, in a region north of Pyongyang, and people who were attending the event “burst into thunderous cheers of ‘hurrah!’ for the Supreme Leader who is commanding the all-people general march for accomplishing the great cause of prosperity”, KCNA reported.
On 15 April, Kim was not seen during the birth anniversary celebrations of his grandfather, state founder Kim Il Sung.
This sparked rumors about this health.
The anniversary is one of the biggest events in the North Korean calendar, and Kim usually marks it by visiting the mausoleum where his grandfather lies.
Any of the Kims had never missed this event before. Unless they are ill.
Obtaining reliable information from North Korean proves to be difficult due to the secretive nature of the regime.
