American singer-songwriter, John Legend, was emotional and teary-eyed when he dedicated his performance at the Billboard Music Awards for his wife, Chrissy Teigen.
Legend sang one of his new songs, Never Break, from his most recent album, Bigger Love.
At the beginning of his performance, Legend said, “This is for Chrissy.”
Recently, the two lost their third child they named Jack due to Teigen’s difficult pregnancy.
This is also the first time Legend performed since the two announced the loss of their child.
The multi-talented celebrity, who was an active social media user last tweeted two weeks ago, the day she shared the sad news.
On the day Teigen and Legend announced they lost their third child, Teigen also posted a letter and a picture of herself during that depressing moment in her life.
People at that time, however, are divided about her post.
Some condemned the act, believing it is too much to share a very personal event on social media.
Others, however, are more sympathetic and applauded her action as it helps in lessening society’s shame in talking about topics like pregnancy loss.
A Friend That Inspires
American artist, Kelly Clarkson, has returned to host the event for the third time since 2018.
Clarkson, later on, said she wanted to “take a moment to talk about a friend” that inspires her daily.
She was talking about her the Voice colleague, Legend.
According to Clarkson, Legend is one of her “favorite people on this planet.”
Moreover, it is easy for people to feel the same due to Legend and Teigen’s “warm way of inviting” people into their world, she added.
That includes “the highs and the lows.”
Clarkson added people’s hearts go out to the couple “in this very difficult time.
Moreover, Clarkson said that Legend’s performance is “possibly” her favorite of the night.
