Kim Kardashian-West, 39, announced on Tuesday that the long-running American TV series showing her family’s life, Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK), is set to end next year, after twenty seasons.
Kardashian-West posted the announcement on her social media accounts.
“Our last season will air early next year in 2021,” Kardashian-West announced.
According to Kardashian-West, it was a family decision to “say goodbye” with the TV series.
Fourteen years and twenty seasons have passed since the reality show’s premiere in 2007.
The TV series showed the everyday lives of the Kardashian-Jenner clan including Kardashian-West, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, their half-sisters, brother, and parents.
In recent years, it also showed the Kardashian-Jenner’s third-generation children and each sibling’s partner.
E!s KUWTK earned the cable network high viewership ratings and success, earning the series more than one spin-off.
Moreover, the popular reality show series has earned not only criticisms but also awards during its more than a decade run.
Kardashian-West was first catapulted into the spotlight through the socialite heiress of Hilton Hotels, Paris Hilton.

“We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years,” Kardashian-West wrote in her post.
The socialite turned businesswoman also acknowledged the role of the series in her successful life.
She wrote in her post that she is “incredibly grateful” to all the people who “watched” and “supported” her family throughout the series.
The show has catapulted Kardashian-West, along with her family members to global popularity earning them clothing brands, cosmetic lines, fashion deals, and other business opportunities.
In her announcement, Kardashian-West did not include any explanation for ending the show.
In her online announcement, Kardashian-West also mentioned American TV host and producer, Ryan Seacrest for “believing” in them.
Seacrest is the executive producer of the show and the one who introduced the show to the cable network, E!.
